TNDR: the questions I get asked most

Does it hurt?

You feel it. Work on a painful knot is intense, precisely because that is where tissue has lost elasticity. It is not sharp pain and should not be: pressure is adjusted to what your tissue tolerates, and you can ask for less at any point.

How is it different from a massage?

I explore before I work. A massage covers the area; TNDR first looks for the originating blockage, which almost never matches the spot that hurts. That is why I sometimes work somewhere you did not expect.

How many sessions do I need?

It depends how long the pattern has been in place. Recent overload may resolve in one or two; something carried for years takes more, and above all needs proper spacing. We work it out after the first session, based on how your body responded. I do not work with packages agreed in advance.

Why work somewhere that does not hurt?

Because symptom and cause rarely coincide. A blockage in the thigh or hip can be what stops the knee recovering its function. If I only press where it hurts, the relief lasts until you go back to your routine.

Is it normal for the area to feel tender the next day?

Yes, for twenty-four to forty-eight hours, much like post-exercise soreness. What is not normal is sharp pain, pain that increases, or pain far from where we worked. If that happens, tell me.

Can I come if I am being treated for something?

Mention it at the start and we take it into account. Manual work accompanies and does not replace specialised medical diagnosis or treatment. If what you bring needs medical assessment, I will say so.

Is TNDR yours?

No. It is a method I studied and that other people practise, including in this area. What I offer is how I combine it with the other disciplines I work with: TMJ, Biomagnetic Pair, Access Bars, kinesiology and integrative foot reflexology.

How long is a session?

Between 60 and 90 minutes depending on the service. The first usually runs longer because it includes the initial assessment.

Joan Jiménez practises TNDR integrative massage and integrative disciplines as an independent professional in Castelldefels (FENACO 3802). These are natural methods aimed at physical rebalancing, tissue regeneration and the functional recovery of the body, and they do not replace specialised medical diagnosis or treatment.
